Plans and idea's for next year

Hey, figured it was about time you had an update of what was going on in 2008.

The first official WARG session will be on Saturday 19th in the Royal Oak at 1pm. And then onto gaming in West Downs at 12 the following day. I have been thinking over the last fews day and I feel that if we could try to move thel card games and social chat into C2H and leave West Downs 3,4 and 5 for roelplays and wargaming?

We have a joint fund raiser with the paint balling society. This is in the SU on the 29th of January and the event is 'revenge of the geeks!' where we all dress up like geeks and party. The music will most likely be fairly generic, although this is not confirmed.

Nicola would like to do a card based larp, I have not decided a date for this yet but I am imagining mid to late February, depending on Nicola.

There has been a lot of support for drafting Unhinged again. Which means I shall run an Unhinged draft. However if there are enough people wishing to draft a normal set it is possible to run two different drafts (remember you can't use unhinged in normal games). Another idea to throw around is having half the packs unhinged in the draft and half the packs another set. There is one important change to the drafting, I will now be requesting £5 deposit to the event, this is because at the last draft there were a lot of people saying they 'might' play and then pulling out at the last moment. This meant that WARGs did not make a lot of money at the event.

I also plan on inviting Southampton again but this time using their message board to communicate with them.

I would also like a few suggestions as to how to raise money for the nationals as at the moment we need to raise around £60 to get you all up there for free.

Remember guys we now have wargaming boards that are free to use.

Cheers

Chris
